When Toyota recalled millions of it’s cars with sticky accelerators caused due to faulty floor mats, the entire car industry went on high alert. This, because the vendors who supplied floor mats to Toyota did so, to many car makers across the motor industry. The latest cars to report accelerator pedals getting stuck in depressed positions are the 2010 Ford Fusion and the Mercury Milan.

While this seems to have caused no accidents or loss of lives yet, the NHTSA is playing safe after the previous Toyota fiasco and is currently investigating the cause of sticky accelerator complaints. Meanwhile, 2010 Ford Fusion and Mercury Milan car owners are urged to report to their nearest dealers and make sure that their floor mats do not obstruct the accelerator pedal in any way.
