The 2010 Volkswagen Polo seems to be turning the heat on especially on the awards front.

Close on the heels of the Polo snagging the 2010 European Car of the year award, here it is again, managing to steal the thunder at the New York Motor Show by winning the prestigious 2010 World Car of the Year award.

The Polo managed to upstage names like the Toyota Prius and the Mercedes-Benz E-Class to be crowned as the 2010 World Car of the Year.

The Polo which won the award is no different from the Polo which is currently being made in India. Now, that’s another reason for you to head towards the nearest VW showroom, isn’t it?
