BMW India could bring it’s latest, striking looking 2011 6 series convertible(Not Coupe) to India in CBU guise as early as within the next few weeks of this month if a comment emerging from a certain Team-Bhpian is to be believed. Given that the certain Team-Bhpian usually is spot on in his predictions, the absence of the question mark in the headline means that the said launch indeed is imminent.

The 2011 BMW 6 Series Coupe could initially feature the 4.8 Liter V8 Petrol in the 650i trim, which means that you get around 360 Bhp@6,300 rpm and 490 Nm@3,400 rpm to play with. What remains unclear is the fact that whether BMW India will launch the convertible version along with the coupe. That said, the convertible version of the 2011 6 Series will follow closely in case BMW India does not it alongside the Coupe as has been the case previously.

Apparently, if they find the sales to be buoying enough, BMW India might even bring in diesel engined variants of the the 6 Series Coupe to India. Pricing, for the moment remains unknown but considering that the existing 6 Series Coupe sells for an ex-showroom price of INR 80 Lakhs or so, the new model might be 5% pricier at about INR 84 Lakhs.
