Will it, won’t it, has been the biggest question mark on the Maruti Suzuki Cervo even as murmurs of it’s impending launch have been doing rounds ever since late 2009. Now, the latest in the grapevine is that the Maruti Suzuki Cervo will be launched in July this year. According to IndiaOnCars, the small car will sit between the 800cc Maruti Suzuki Alto and the Maruti Suzuki A-Star.

We’re wondering what will happen to the Maruti Suzuki alto K10 then. But knowing Maruti’s ultra crowded line up of small cars, the Cervo sitting in between the Alto and A-Star does not seem too far fetched. The Cervo, currently sells in the Japanese Domestic Market with a 658cc petrol engine that pumps out 54 Bhp of power and 64 Nm of torque.

While the power and torque figures are a lot higher than the Maruti Alto 800, it is the fuel efficiency which is expected to be the Cervo’s biggest selling point. A city mileage of 17 KMPL and a highway mileage of 21 KMPL is hat the Cervo is expected to deliver and those figures will make the small car a very hot seller.

This, especially if Maruti manage to launch it at the anticipated price range of INR 2.25 to 3.5 Lakhs. The base price of INR 2.25 Lakhs somehow looks a little unrealistic considering the high tech, latest generation K series 660cc engine and the features the Cervo might bring to the table. So, we’re taking it with a pinch of salt. Meanwhile, here are some speculated technical specifications and price points for the 2011 Maruti Suzuki Cervo.

The car was said to be launched as a competitor of Tata’s Nano ,with a price tag of 1.5 lakhs ex-showroom.

GREAT NEWS.BUT A 650 CC CAR AT RS/300000= MAY HAVE FEW TAKERS . SMALL CAR SEGMENT IS BOUND TO BE CROWDED SOON WITH NEW PLAYERS .I THINK BY SENDING FEELERS MARUTI IS TESTING THE RESPONSES.CARS OF THOSE SPECS CANNOT FETCH VOLUMES IF IT NOT PRICED SENSIBLY.THE ON ROAD PRICE COULD BE ,SAY ARROUND 2 LAKHS (MAX), IF IT HAS TO TO DO WHAT MARUTI 800 DID TWO DECADES AGO

the car has got everything on it.The exterior has got little bit of d cheverolet beat and hyundai i20.Neat,classy interior looks really great.m eagerly waiting 4 this car.i will definitely buy this car.

After a very long time some hopes are arises for the launching of CERVO. But the Price of base model should be around 1.5 lakhs & fully loaded model not more than 3 lakhs (On-Road).

Price of Rs.300000 for a 650cc car is too high. Price should be between Rs.1.50-2.0 lacs only.

I was waiting for its launch but would prefer to go in for Tata Nano as that is more economical pricewise as well as milegewise.
