A while ago, due to production constraints, Toyota Kirloskar Motors deferred the launch of the 2011 Toyota Etios Liva Hatchback from the first quarter of 2011 to a date a few months down the line in 2011, to ensure that the Etios Sedan’s demand is met without undue delays.

Now, even as Toyota is upping capacity at it’s Bidadi plant to 210,000 units, the Japanese automaker has also announced that the launch of the 2011 Etios Liva Hatchback could happen as early as June 2011. We think that this is a good move from Toyota as the 2011 Maruti Swift will also be launched during this period, thus ensuring that prospective Etios Liva buyers stay in the Toyota fold.

Meanwhile, the Toyota Etios Liva Hatchback is expected to come in a petrol variant with a 1,200cc engine that will produce about 70 Bhp. The hatchback could be priced very competitively under INR 5 Lakhs, just as Toyota priced the Etios Sedan very competitively to take the sedan market by storm. All in all, June 2011 it is, when yet another hatchback will join the long list of cars that the Indian small car buyer can choose from, in the great Indian hatchback market.

What a superb car! Car should launch as early as possible because many small cars like swift, Honda brio are entering the market. So Diesel version should along with petrol car. My dream is to drive life’s first Toyota’s Etios Liva car.
