2013 BMW M6 high performance coupe unveiled!

BMW has just released images and specifications of the 2013 M6 coupe, a car that will succeed the current second generation model of the M6. The 3rd generation M6 coupe is essentially the high performance version of the BMW 6 series cars and comes in a highly strung state of tune. The 2013 BMW M6 coupe will feature the same 4.4 liter V8 engine that uses a twin turbocharger to produce 560 Bhp of peak power and a mammoth 677 Nm of peak torque. That is a whole 53 Bhp more than the outgoing naturally aspirated V10 motor and a massive 200 Nm bump up. This power and torque will be channelized to the rear wheels of the car.

The engine is mated to a seven speed dual clutch automatic transmission that also gets a manual shift mode for some spirited driving. The M6 also features the highly acclaimed active M differential that works with the dynamic stability control to work as a limited slip differential, thus providing optimum levels of grip during all conditions. Apart from the big bump up in power and torque due to forced induction, twin turbo power has also the 2013 M6 a great fillip to fuel economy, with BMW claiming 30% increase in fuel economy. Suspension gets the regulation high performance and sporty M-treatment.

The 2013 BMw M6 coupe will hurtle past the 100 Kph mark in a blinding 4.2 seconds and go on to hit an electronically limited top speed of 250 Kph. That said, unrestricted versions should be capable of going past the 300 Kph mark. The 2013 M6 Coupe will be followed by a convertible version over the next few months. The 2013 M6 coupe will go in sale internationally in June 2013. Considering that BMW was already selling the M6 in India, it could just a matter of time before the new M6 also arrives to the Indian market in due course of time. However, a specific launch time frame isn’t available at the moment.
