2012 Chevrolet Aveo hits the gym and will hurtle towards Indian shores in early 2011

Globally, General Motors is betting big on the butch and muscular, in-yer-face styling that has now come to symbolize it’s entire product portfolio. Continuing in this vein, General Motors has given the 2012 Chevrolet Aveo too a good dose of it’s style steroids. From front, the 2012 Aveo’s grille and nose shares an uncanny resemblance with the Mistubishi Lancer Evo. Looks like someone at GM’s design unit is a huge fan of Mitsubishi Lancer.

While engine options remain sketchy at the moment, expect 1.6 liter petrol and diesel units, both pumping out more than 100 horses to grace the 2012 Aveo’s engine bay. The Aveo will need a bunch of eager horses, especially if it plans to take on the stiff competition that features the likes of the Ford Fiesta and the All New Honda City. The interiors get GM’s now trademark twin cockpit treatment with the interiors getting a range of new materials to stand out from what competitors have to offer.

The aggressive looking 2012 Chevrolet Aveo will hit Indian shores sometime in early 2011, around the same time when Ford India too launches a majorly facelifted Fiesta sedan.
