2012 Chevrolet Camaro Convertible
The Chevrolet Camaro has been a great success for General Motors. Especially since the car featured as Bumblebee in the Transformer movies, the new Camaro has earned quite a lot of good press. The new Camaro came only in coupe form and was still loved by muscle car fans around the world. Now GM has finally chopped the roof off its one of the best selling muscle cars.

The 2012 Camaro Convertible looks as menacing as it coupe cousin. The design looks well executed with all the original cuts and slashes which have been carried on from the coupe. The three-ply canvas roof incorporates a single-point latch system adopted from the Corvette.

To make a convertible out of a coupe, manufacturers have to add strengthening beams to make the structure as rigid as possible and with minimum flex. In case of the Camaro, the original structure of the car was made in order to accommodate a convertible in the future.

2012 Chevrolet Camaro Convertible V8 engine
The new Camaro Convertible come with two engine options; a 312 bhp, V6 and a 6.2-litre V8 with 412 bhp on tap. GM has also added suspension tower braces under the hood, transmission support reinforcement brace, underbody tunnel brace and front and rear underbody “V” braces in order to eliminate any chassis flex.
