2012 Fiat Grande Punto hatchback spotted!

Here are what appear to the very first images of the Fiat Grande Punto hatchback, that will be launched tomorrow by Fiat India at New Delhi. The 2012 Fiat Grande Punto is essentially the same car with very minor changes. Both petrol and diesel engines remain unchanged. Fiat offers buyers a choice of two petrol engines, a 1.2 liter and a more powerful 1.4 liter variant. The 1.3 liter Multijet diesel engine comes in two states of tune, a 75 Bhp and a 90 Bhp unit. The interiors too remain bog similar with the black and grey treatment with only the seat covers showing a new pattern.

2012 Fiat Grande Punto

So, not much has changed on the 2012 Fiat Grande Punto hatchback it seems like, except for the increase of ground clearance on the petrol variants. The 1.2 Liter engined Punto will get 195mm of ground clearance while the 1.4 Liter version will get 185mm. There have been complaints of inadequate AC performance in the Grande Punto and Linea. Fiat India has addressed this issue with a brand new AC unit, for the 2012 models of the Linea and Grande Punto. This apart, a new blue color scheme will be introduced for the 2012 Grande Punto.

2012 Fiat Grande Punto Interiors

The exteriors of the 2012 Fiat Grande Punto remain bog similar to the previous version with no changes whatsoever. The car will be launched tomorrow and expect prices to be hiked by 1-2% as will be the norm across the car industry in January 2012, due to pricing pressures that the automobile industry has been facing for quite some time now. Fiat India will not participate at the 2012 Auto Expo, but will unveil the Fiat Caffe at Delhi on the 6th of January, 2012. The Fiat Caffe will be a brand building place where Fiat enthusiasts can come together and hang out while checking out new Fiat products.

I assumed there might be a lot of changes in engine power and on both interiors and exteriors. I think the company wanted to show something new when they launch the fiat caffe. OMG, Fiat give us the best.
