2012 Ford Fiesta dual clutch powershift automatic sedan could be just around the corner!

The new range of dual clutch automatic gearboxes that top car brands across the world are resorting to have turned around the notions of automatic cars being unresponsive and thirsty, upside down. Case in point is the all new Ford Fiesta powershift automatic sedan, which features a six speed dual clutch automatic gearbox, one that offers more fuel economy than its petrol variant at a claimed 16.45 Kmpl, and that is quite something, isn’t it? Ford previewed this car late last year and back then suggested that the launch will happen sometime in early 2012.

Now, that is where we are currently at and earlier in the day, we had Ford India updating their Facebook page with a “coming soon” line for the Fiesta powershift automatic. Consonant with that, the 2012 Ford Fiesta Automatic sedan could be just around the corner. Pricing will be announced during the time of the launch, and we hope it will be competitive, for that is the only way to pep up all new Fiesta sales, which haven’t really set the hustings on fire on the back of some optimistic pricing by Ford India. That said, the Fiesta is still the car you’ll want in your driveway if pure driving pleasure is what you’re seeking for.

Continuing in the vein of the all new Fiesta, the automatic variant will be a class leader as it is the only C-segment car to feature a dual clutch automatic gearbox, which also happens to have a hill hold function and a creep function, the latter which will be of much use in bumper to bumper traffic. Other features like the voice command function and an electric power steering with pull drift correction are segment firsts and do a lot to improve the overall experience of theall new Fiesta. The all new Fiesta Automatic will continue to be powered by the 110 Bhp-140 Nm 1.5 Liter Ti-VCT petrol engine. No plans for a Fiesta diesel automatic exist at the moment.
