2013 Dodge Dart: Is this a glimpse of the 2013 Fiat Linea sedan’s design language!
2012 has arrived and Fiat India delivered a couple of added features and extra ground clearance for the Indian version of the 2012 Linea. Oh, and they even increased the ground clearance by a few vital millimeters and now claim higher fuel economies for both the petrol and diesel powered Linea. The styling though remains the same and that isn’t a bad thing at all. No sir, the Linea has been on hell of a looker ever since it made its debut many 3 winters ago in India, but the Italians have a flair for good design and here they are, showing off, perhaps how the Linea would look in 2013.
In case you didn’t know, Fiat bought a bug chunk of Chrysler when the latter was in dire straits after the 2008 meltdown. Predictably, Italian owner Fiat now wants Chrysler’s cars to sell better than they have been doing and hence we have the 2013 Dodge Dart heading right into the compact sedan space in America to muster up some much needed volumes for the brand. At the 2012 Detroit Motor Show, Fiat-Chrysler showed unveiled the 2013 Dodge Dart, a car that will take on the likes of the Chevrolet Cruze, 2012 Honda Civic and the Hyundai Elantra.
Needless to say, the Dodge Dart is much bigger than the current Linea. Even so, we could have the 2013 Linea featuring plenty of styling from the Dodge Dart when it makes its debut sometime in late 2012 or 2013. With the Linea using the Alfa Romeo Giulietta platform, a platform that is also used by the 2013 Dodge Dart, lets hope that the new 2013 Linea is as much a good looker as the Dart. And yes, the Dodge Dart gets a 1.4 Fiat Multiair turbo petrol engine, the likes of which should be in the scheme of things for the 2013 Linea. For now, here’s a video of the 2013 Dodge Dart that we’ve lined up for you.
