2013 Fiat Linea sedan facelift spyshots surface!
Fiat India has just refreshed the Linea sedan and Grande Punto hatchback a month ago and the facelifted models are currently on sale at all Tata-Fiat dealerships in India. Over the next 12 months, Fiat will concentrate on establishing standalone fiat dealerships, which we believe is the only way Fiat can truly realize the sales potential of the Linea and Grande Punto, both very capable cars whose sales charts simply don’t reflect their real worth. Meanwhile, spy shots of the 2013 version of the Linea sedan have just surfaced. With Fiat India just launching the facelifted Linea, the new model might take a year or so to come to India.
The 2013 Linea sedan will be a mid career makeover than a full model change. The facelifted Linea sedan is expected to get a new front end, replete with new headlamps and a new grille. The front bumper too is expected to see a change. Fiat might spruce up the interiors to bring the Linea at par with the competition, which in India at least outclasses the Linea when it comes to the interiors. The rear might get new tail lamps, a new bumper and possibly a new bootlid too. With all these changes, the 2012 Linea could get much fresher looking considering that it has been around for 4 years now.
The diesel variant of the Linea could do with some more pep and so, it wouldn’t be a bad idea for Fiat India to launch the facelifted Linea with a variable geometry turbocharger, to bump up output to about 120 Bhp and 240 Nm, just the amount of power and torque that the Linea’s superb chassis and handling would need to be enjoyed with. Speculations suggest that the 2013 Linea will get a 1.4 liter Multiair engine which combines variable valve timing with turbocharging. That could be the logical upgrade to the T-Jet motor as the 1.4 Multiair engine will make the 2013 Linea petrol more powerful as well as fuel efficient.
