On whether this car will be relaunched in India remains unknown at this point in time. However, folks who have been keenly observing the Indian car market would remember that Ford did sell the Mondeo sedan in India  few years ago. Although the car was a hoot to drive around and a superb performer, it didn’t find many takers in a market dominated by wholly and solely by the then Honda Accord sedan. This led to Ford stopping the import of the Mondeo for the Indian market and ever since, the Indian D-segment sedan space hasn’t seen a Ford yet.

Coming back to the 2013 Ford Fusion, it is a car that Ford has put together by blending the best bits of the American Fusion and the European Mondeo, to emerge with a world car with a single design philosophy. A range of EcoBoost turbopetrol engines will power thsi car for the North American market while Europe, being diesel continent, might get the customary TDCI diesel  engines under the hood when the Fusion arrives as the Mondeo. Ford is also lining up a hybrid version of the Fusion called the Energi, that will be launched in early 2013.
