Here’s how we think the 2013 Honda Brio sedan will look like!

Just the other day, Honda announced big plans for the Brio, with a diesel motor under the hood likely to be made available before the end of 2012. Honda is betting big on the Brio and with the diesel engine under the hood and the Honda badge on the bonnet, the Brio Diesel could become a best seller for the Japanese automaker if priced right. Even as the Brio was being developed, there have been murmurs of a possible sedan version of this car being launched in the future.

So, our roving eye in the sky, EarthFusion, got working, to generate this image of the Honda Brio Sedan. Compatriot and competitor Toyota also has a sedan and hatchback version of the Etios, underpinned by the same platform. So, why not Honda with the Brio is our assertion. Considering that the Brio will also get a diesel engine in the not-so-distant future, a sedan variant of the car would just be what the doctor ordered for Honda to do big volumes.

With the Maruti Dzire compact sedan just being launched hours ago, compact sedans might start finding more acceptance in the Indian market. The Brio too could fit right in, with a sub 4 meter length. Actually, the Brio hatchback’s length is well within 4 meters and a Brio with a stubby boot could still manage to satisfy the length requirements, to measure within the Indian government’s excise duty exemption limits. The Brio also has a ready 1.2 liter petrol i-VTEC motor to be a petrol option.

All said and done, we’re merely speculating at the moment and Honda is yet to announce any concrete plans for a sedan version of the Brio. The rumors though, seem to suggest a 2013 launch for the Brio sedan.

    I agree, Brio with diesel engine and CS body could be a best-seller for Honda unless govt. plays spoilsport with their diesel subsidy policies.
