The next generation Porsche Boxster has been caught totally undisguised for the first time. It is the 2013 Porsche Boxster S and we can straight away report that it looks stunning to say the least. The new Boxster retains the classic shape which has been with us since the car was launched. The Boxster as we all know has been a mid-engined roadster than the usual rear engine layout of the 911s. Since the engine was in the middle, the Boxster needed an air-vent on the sides. In the new model, the vents quite substantial in size.

The front end is new with new LED lights that were first seen on the new Porsche 911 Carrera models which were launched at the Frankfurt motor show. The headlights have distinct twin pods. The rear lamps are redesigned and the integrated boot spoiler now extends over the tail lamps. That said, the spoiler seems to have been finished in chrome making the rear quite striking. It also seems that the spoiler might rise when the car reaches a certain speed to generate a bit more downforce.

The roll bars have also been finished in shiny chrome making it feel pretty upmarket. The interior too seems more premium and we like the contrasting red leathers. The folding hood matches the interior and tucks in nicely between the boot and the seats. Of course, the wheel design also all new and add to the sporty appeal of the car. Now, the Porsche Boxster has always been the entry level Porsche. In other words, the most inexpensive.
All said, the 2013 Porsche Boxster is expected to powered by a four cylinder engine coupled with turbocharger to boost power. Porsche is trying to cut its average emissions with the new engines. However, this does not mean that the next generation Porsches will be less exciting. We like the looks of the new car though and we just hope they put a powerful motor under that gorgeous body.
