Later today, Tata Motors Limited will launch the high performance-top end variant of the Indica Vista diesel hatchback, a car that gets a more powerful engine and a host of new features. But before that, here are a bunch of images of the car even before the launch. The images do have a story to tell given that the Indica Vista D90 sees a facelift on the outside, in keeping with the more powerful turbo diesel engine nestling under its hood. These images are courtesy a Team-Bhpian, who spotted the Indica Vista D90 at a Delhi dealership.
The 2013 Tata Indica Vista D90 diesel hatchback gets a facelift at the front with a new bumper while the rear of the car sees a roof spoiler, a new front bumper, new side skirts and new badges. While alloy wheels are standard, the car also gets new paint shades to make it stand out from the rest of the cars in the Indica Vista line up. On the inside, the dashboard has been borrowed from the Manza sedan and this means that the interiors now get premium look and feel, straight from “sedan class” as Tata would like us to call it.
Owing to the new dashboard, the Indica Vista D90’s instrumentation console sits in front of the driven, instead of the central design that the rest of the Indica Vistas make do with. The instrumentation console adds the driver information system feature, which reads out a host of information like current fuel consumption, average speed and the likes. The Indica Vista D90 also borrows the touch screen infotainment system from the Manza sedan with satellite navigation. Follow-Me-Home headlamps and one touch driver side power windows are the two other prominent features on the Vista D90. Beige interiors and automatic climate control comes as standard on the top spec ZX variant.
The Indica Vista D90 is powered by a 1.3 Liter Fiat Multijet turbo diesel engine using a variable geometry turbocharger to push up power and torque output to 90 Bhp-200 Nm. Transmission remains a 5 speed manual gearbox. The Indica Vista D90 will be available in two variants, VX and ZX. While the VX variant is priced at 5.74 lakhs, the ZX model is priced at INR 6.4 lakhs, both prices reflecting ex-showroom figures. Twin airbags, ABS and EBD comes standard on ZX version. At this price, the Indica Vista D90 represents fantastic value for money, especially for the sheer equipment levels that this spacious B+ segment hatchback brings to the table. Bookings are now open for the Indica Vista D90 with the first deliveries expected to happen later today.
