The CLA45 AMG, as its name suggests, is the AMG massaged version of the CLA sedan that Mercedes Benz unveiled early this year at the Detroit Motor Show. The CLA45 AMG shares the MFA platform and consequently most parts with the A45 AMG sports hatchback. This sharing includes the 2 Liter turbo petrol engine that will power the CLA45 aMG. This 4 cylinder engine is good for 360 Bhp of peak power and 450 Nm of peak torque. The engine also shares its 7 speed dual clutch automatic transmission with the A45 AMG. The car features an all wheel drive layout.

Apart from the powerful engine, the CLA45 AMG will get sport suspension and various other stylistic changes to go with the AMG badging. The CLA45 AMG is expected to go on sale in the second half of 2013. The CLA45 AMG is the second car based on the MFA platform to get the AMG treatment. Together with the A45 AMG model, the CLA45 AMG will be one of the most affordable high performance car in Mercedes Benz’s car line up. Apart from the AMG massaged version, the CLA sedan is also available with turbo petrol and turbo diesel engines.

The CLA sedan will make its Indian debut sometime in 2014 when this car will join the likes of the A-Class and B-Class models. All three MFA platform models sold in India will be assembled at Mercedes Benz India’s Chakan assembly unit. The fourth MFA platform car to be launched in India is the GLA compact crossover.
