4 Million Cars, 1 Engine: The Fiat Multijet 1.3 Diesel!

Fiat Multijet 1.3 Diesel Engine

Fiat Multijet 1.3 Diesel Engine

We have a national animal, a national bird and even a national symbol. If something could be called the national engine, it must be the Fiat Multijet 1.3 Diesel. The engine designed and built by Fiat and that displaces 1,248cc introduced Indians to modern CRDi diesel engines that was reliable, frugal as well as powerful.

While the 1.5 Liter, 3 Pot Hyundai CRDI Diesel preceded the first Fiat Multijet Diesel engine shoehorned onto the Swift Diesel, it was the latter that caught the fancy of both the car buyers as well as the car makers. To this day, the Fiat Multijet 1.3 Diesel Engine powers the Maruti Suzuki Swift, the Maruti Suzuki Ritz, the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, The Maruti Suzuki SX4, the Fiat Palio MJD, the Fiat Grande Punto, the Fiat Linea, the Fiat 500, the Tata Indica Vista and last but not the least the Tata Indigo Manza.

Thus, when the 4 millionth Fiat Multijet engine rolled out of Fiat’s facility at Poland in a Fiat 500, not too many who know about the “National Engine” were surprised. Any which ways, ICB congratulates Fiat for this stupendous achievement of theirs and wishes that we get more such delightfully frugal and powerful diesel engines that have made diesel cars so much more fun to drive.

FIAT! Establish exclusive FIAT showrooms to instill confidence in the customers’ minds to bye your cars. Following the tail of TATA for this is not a good idea FIAT! Do you hear? With these good engines, you can do wonders!

For now ,it seems like FIAT is more intrested in Selling Engines than their cars. From last few year FIAT-TATA have nailed their coffin good enough.
FIAT dont bother how their customer’s are treated.
TATA want to see their cars to FIAT customer ,and Ironically they are very good in doing that.

So the makers of best ,robust cars with the national engines dont find any buyers, they now are dimantling the engines from PUNTO’S and LINEA’A and selling to TATA /MARUTI..It’s Sad but true. Despite FIAT’s new efforts this year with 2012 LINEA/PUNTO , people are scared of FIAT.
