Alliance Matters: Honda SIEL to go it alone in the Indian market

The Indian car industry is seeing a spurt of alliances with the latest being that of the Renault-Nissan and Daimler joining hands to develop a small car for the emerging markets.

With such alliances on the rise, rumors were rife that Japanese automaker Honda too was mulling an alliance to enjoy benefits of reduced cost and combined operational efficiency.

Honda SIEL India however has denied any plans of it forming an alliance to develop new cars for the Indian as well as the world car market. As of now, Honda SIEL India plans to focus on the impending launch of it’s small car that is due to be launched sometime in 2011.
