Aston Martin is lining-up special edition models of two of its popular sports coupes for Frankfurt. The company has unveiled the Aston Martin Carbon Edition ahead of its official debut tomorrow at the Frankfurt Motor show. The V12 sports car will be available in coupe as well as convertible versions. Aston Martin has also added two new colours to the options list as well. Customers will now get an option of Flame Orange and Ceramic Grey together with the existing Carbon Black for the new DBS Carbon Edition.

The automaker proudly stated how each Aston Martin gets seven layers of paint followed by which craftsmen painstakingly polish the car for 25 hours. Aston Martin also offer their customers a special satin lacquer paint finish which gives the car a silk-like texture. Of course all these are optional extras. The Carbon Edition will also get 10-spoke gloss black diamond turned wheels with a reversed diamond turned or full gloss black finish as an option. Customers can also order the brake callipers painted in either yellow, orange, red or gray.

“Each DBS will undergo Aston Martin’s unique paint process receiving seven layers of paint together with a 25 hour hand flat-and-polish finish resulting in a glass veneer normally the reserve of jewelery production. A first for Aston Martin is the option to specify a satin lacquer paint finish, creating a silk-like texture.” - Aston Martin

Coming to the heart of the matter, the Aston Martin DBS Carbon Edition will be powered by a 517 horsepower 6.0 litre V12 engine that sounds as glorious as in any Aston. The interior also gets a bit of carbon fibre treatment to match the theme of the car. DBS Carbon Edition with all the shiny paint and add-ons will cost you £186,582 for the coupe and £196,581 for the Volante. Deliveries of the new special edition will begin in the first quarter of next year.
