Audi unveils the Q3 Crososver SUV and the A3 E-Tron sedan at the 2012 Auto Expo!

Audi has pulled the wraps off the Q3 Crossover SUV and the A3 e-Tron sedan at the 2012 Indian Auto Expo. Katrina Kaif and Lisa Ray, both Bollywood actors’ arrival meant that a mini stampede ensued with everyone vying to catch a glimpse of the movie stars along with the hot new Audi Q3 Crossover SUV. This event was more of an unveil and the Q3 will be launched in India in a few months time. So, more details like the price, variants and engine options about this Crossover will be forthcoming then.

Currently, all we know is that the Q3 will be available in both petrol and diesel engine guises with manual and automatic transmission. On whether the famed quattro system will be dumped on certain variants for a more conventional and fuel efficient front wheel drive system remains to be seen although there’s a fat chance that will happen if Audi wants to usher in a budget model of the Q3 for the Indian market. CKD assembly will happen at Audi’s Indian assembly unit.

The Audi A3 E-tron car also showcased at the Audi pavilion was another model that will come into India, albeit with an internal combustion engine to do the driving honors. While the launch is at least a year away, the Audi A3 could be the most affordable Audi for the Indian market and this is one car that the masses who have always aspired for an Audi would love to own. The Audi A3 sedan will feature both petrol and diesel engine options. Watch this space for plenty of live images and happenings from the Audi pavilion that we’ll carry in the coming days!
