Geneva Show: 2011 Bentley Continental Supersports drop-top
Bentley Continental Supersports convertible
Volkswagen, meaning car of the common folks have a number of cars under its wing that represent this ideology, the Bugatti Veyron, the Audi R8, the Porsche Carrera GT, the Bentley Continental GT…to name a few. Ahem.
The latest to join this bunch is the fastest Bentley cabriolet ever, the Bentley Continental Supersports convertible.
In essence, it is the hair dryer version of the Continental Supersports and comes with the same 6.0 litre W12 engine spewing 621 horses. The drop-top will hit 100 kph from standstill in 3.9 seconds and 160 kph in under 10 seconds and hitting a top whack of 325 kph.
Like its hard-top brother, the soft-top can run on E85 biofuel, making it ‘light’ green. Dropping the top didn’t make it too heavy either and the four-wheel drive system does drifting duties quite well. Cost? Well a measly £175,000 or a heck lot of Rupees. Car for the common folks, this. To tongue in cheek.
