The Boss is coming. Look busy!

The 2011 Ford Mustang is being shoehorned with all sorts of engines as we speak. Ford seems to be in the run to meet some sort of an agenda to have a Mustang each for all kinds of customers. So how about those who would like to have a mix of the blast from the past and a taste for individuality? How about resurrection of the Boss 302 Mustang itself?

Mustangs have a history of some of the most memorable special edition cars. So how much believable is the launch of Boss 302 version? Very much, says Mustang followers and to support that statement a race version of the 5.0 litre V8 Mustang GT with 302R decals went for a go at a Grand-Am race held recently. The race-spec version is a factory-built racing machine which comes fully loaded with 5.0-liter four-valve engine and a six-speed manual transmission with a roll cage, race seats, safety harness, data acquisition and race dampers/springs, and a Brembo brake and tire package. But this is a thoroughbred race car for track days.

Expect the customer-spec Boss 302 Mustang to be tamer with a 430 bhp unit and a price tag of $ 30,000 which makes it far more affordable compared to its racing cousin that sells for a staggering $ 79,000. Multimatic is working on the components for the Boss Mustang and insiders say in hushed voices that the Boss 302 may be unveiled at Laguna Seca as part of the Pebble Beach event which by the way will be held this month.

Now what’s that line which has to be added here?
