General Motors India furthers the green theme by launching the Chevrolet Aveo CNG at the 2010 Indian Auto Expo

General Motors India has so far been one of the biggest revelation of the 2010 Indian Auto Expo, next only to homeboy Tata Motors Limited. GM India made quite a big splash with the Chevrolet Beat, quickly following it with the electric version of the Cherolet spark. Rounding off General Motors India’s auto expo launches, we have the CNG fuel version of the Chevrolet Aveo. While we expected the new Chevrolet Aveo and the UV-A versions, GM India didn’t showcase any of those. CNG versions of cars aren’t anything new in the Indian car market, a car with sequential injection certainly is.

Yes, the Chevrolet Aveo now comes with a sequential injection system, very unlike most other CNG cars which still use carburetors to handle CNG fuel delivery to the engine. What the sequential injection does is, it minimizes the power loss that is associated with conventional CNG injection systems apart from injecting fuel into the engine in a more precise way, thus imprvoing fuel efficiency as well.

On the whole, this particular development should set a precedent with the other car manufacturers following suit. So, that in essence is the clean, green Chevrolet Aveo CNG for you.
