Rollys Royce Coupe: DC Design

There was a time when Dilip Chabbria took dull looking cars and transformed them into stunning sculptures on wheels. And unless told otherwise, you’ll never know what the base car was. Those days are in the past right now as DC Designs has grown phenomenally from a customizer to one of the world’s finest coachbuilders.

Some of you must be aware of the fact that the Aston Martin DBS show car was built by DC here in India. DC now works on cars which are already stunners in their own rights – Porsches, Mercs, Beemers and even Rollers.

The Rolls Royce in the picture is one such piece specially built for someone who has grown tired of “ordinary” Rolls Royce luxury barges. Merging the features of the new Phantom, the Nissan Z and the Maybach Exelero, the Black Ruby (which is the name given by the designer) is an attention grabber by all means. It may not generate similar reactions from all, considering its peculiar styling.

Looks like the client just got tired of this one after some time and that’s probably why the Ruby made its way to an exotic car dealership with a fancy price tag of $1.2 million. The car hasn’t been able to find any buyers yet and it may have to wait for a while before another rich, eccentric car buff feels the need to splurge on an unconventional supercar.
