Ferrari Enzo’s replacement, the F70 supercar due in late 2012 could pack in 920 Bhp from a 7.3 liter V12 engine!

When Ferrari will unwrap the replacement for the flagship Enzo supercar, dubbed the F70, expect the car to pack in massive power and performance, befitting its status as the iconic Enzo’s successor. The Ferrari Enzo supercar was built as a tribute to Enzo Ferrari, the founder of the Italian supercar maker from Maranello. The 2012 F70 will succeed the Enzo, which was built in limited quantities.

We’ve now gotten hold of brand new details about the 2012 Ferrari F70 supercar and from what we’re hearing, the F70 could easily be the most powerful Ferrari road going supercar ever.  How about 920 galloping Italian thoroughbreds for company? That is just what the Ferrari F70′s 7.3 liter, naturally aspirated V12 petrol motor could produce, in combination with technology straight from the world of Formula1.

KERS or Kinetic Energy Regeneration System, is expected to arrive onto the Ferrari F70 and electric power alone will produce 120 Bhp, which will supplement the 800 Bhp peak power output of the 7.3 Liter V12 motor. This engine could be one of the last naturally aspirated V12s from the Ferrari stable, which could soon switch twin turbo V8 power for its flagship variants in the future.

KERS technology basically involves a flywheel which stores energy generated during the braking of the car, which will be delivered on demand.  Like the Enzo, the 2012 Ferrari F70 will be a limited production supercar. This limited production will also mean that the F70 will use the exorbitantly expensive carbon fiber for its chassis. The Ferrari F70 is expected to be one of the lightest Ferrari ever produced targeting a sub 2,500 pound kerb weight.

Also, expect plenty of Formula1 technology to filter down to this supercar, costs being of little concern. With that much power and a super light kerb weight, the flagship Ferrari F70 supercar might just out accelerate the Bugatti Veyron hypercar.
