New Fiat Doblo 2010 Launched in UK & Europe: Its All About Space

Fiat Doblo Cargo Van 2010

Designed to blend with comfort and technology, the all new Fiat Doblo with improved looks and restyled interiors is all set to go on sale. The car is based on new larger platform and fiat is claiming that it offers more passenger as well as luggage space, and reduced emissions thanks to its engine upgrade.

The 2010 Fiat Doblo will be available with three engine choices that include two 2.0-litre, 1.6 litre 16v units with MultiJet technology that produce 105 BHP and 135 BHP and use an all-new 6-speed manual gearbox plus a 1.4-litre 16v petrol engine that develops 95 BHP.

The seven-seater will go on sale this month and besides the new appearance the car features a new bi-link rear suspension that improves ride quality, a longer wheelbase (2.75m) and a 790-litre load capacity that can be increased to 3200-litres with the rear seats folded.

Available with a choice of four low emission, Euro 4 and 5 specification engines, the new commercial Doblo comes in a dizzying seven different forms – Cargo, Cargo Maxi, Cargo SX, Cargo Maxi SX, Combi, Combi Maxi and Platform Cab – to offer real solutions for a wide spectrum of van users.

Standard equipment across the entire range includes ABS anti-lock brakes, height adjustable steering wheel, power steering, electric front windows, adjustable headlights, passenger seat undertray, high performance speakers, side rubbing strips and central door locking.

According to press release from Fiat, the new Doblo will be available in European market later this month with prices ranging from £12,295 to £17,145 .

I could test drive the new Doblo at my dealer. It was the diesel engine with 1.6 litres and 105 horsepowers.

The quality compared to the previous version is definitely much better. Also the safety ist up to date with ESP, ABS, ASR, EBD, hillholder etc. to name a few.

The new Doblo is a bit shorter compared with the new Renault Kangoo and Citroen Berlingo, but surprisingly has the biggest cargo room.
And the new Doblo ist the only MPV whose sliding doors (on both sides) comes with electric windows!! This is not available even as an option for the new Berlingo and the new Kangoo!

The new Doblo has also the highest payload and tows travel trailers up to 1300 kilogramms of weight!

The seats are very comfortable, both front and rear.

The ride is comfortable, the suspension works better then on the previous version and the engine got a better sound isolation too.

The new Doblo diesel has already Euro 5 and a particulate filter. Again, something Kangoo and Berlingo don’t offer so far.

We currently have the 2004 Kangoo 1.5 dci 82 horsepower diesel and are happy with it. We have test driven the new Kangoo, the new Berlingo and now the new Doblo, all with 103 – 109 horsepower diesels. If we would have to pick one for us, we would definetely choose the new Doblo.
