Speculations are rife that the sexy Grande Punto hatchback from Fiat might just get a heart transplant from it’s elder sibling, the Fiat Linea. For the 2010 Grande Punto, sources are predicting the 1.3 liter VGT Multijet power-plant which is currently doing duty in the diesel version of the Fiat Linea. Meanwhile, the Fiat Linea too will get a new turbo petrol engine and the new Linea T-Jet is expected to be launched tomorrow morning at the 2010 Indian Auto Expo as we had reported earlier.

This 1.3 Multijet variable geometry turbocharged engine delivers about 90 Bhp and if fitted into the 2010 nGrande Punto’s engine bay, it will certainly make the 2010 Grande Punto a hot hatch with looks to kill for. Fiat will increase the price of the diesel Grande Punto by about one lakh INR for this new engine option along with plenty of nifty features thrown in.
