After the innumerable delays, Motorbeam says that the Fiat Grande Punto 90HP will be launched on 16th July, 2010. This holds some credence as Fiat launched the 90 Bhp version of the Grande Punto in Argentina just a week ago and India could be right next.

The 90 Bhp engine of the Grande Punto, which comes with a significant power upgrade of 15 Bhp due to the addition of the Variable Geometry Turbo from the Fixed Geometry Turbo might just be what the doctor ordered for the Grande Punto as cars like the Maruti Suzuki Swift Diesel are more than 3 seconds faster from nought to hundred.

With the new 1.3 Liter VGT engine, that the Grande Punto will now share with the Linea, the tables are set to turn with the Grande Punto now touted to do the 0-100 sprint in a very rapid 12 seconds. If those figures are to be believed, he Grande Punto could turn out to be one very hot hatch that goes as hot as it looks. Now, lets hope that the Fiat Grande Punto 90 HP indeed sees a launch on 16th July, for, any further delay would only mean that car buyers will simply lose interest in the more powerful variant of the terrific looking Grande Punto. I’m already dreaming about a Peted 90 Bhp Grande Punto. Ah, what fun that car would be.

    I donot understand why Fiat has priced the Punto so high. You get the Ford-Figo with same features that of Punto at almost 80K cheaper.
    Fiat should thinnk of its pricing strategy.
    Even the Nissan has prices their Micra about 40K lesse than Punto.
    I had been to the Tata Motors showroom last week. Instatntly I was fallen for the Punto’s beauty. I checked out Punto and also the Indica Vista. Limited edition of Indica Vista was about 10k cheaper than the Punto base model (Active). Strange

    who is more power full i20 petrol or punto petrol and stylish??????????
