Palio owners smile :-) Spares get cheaper

Fiat India

Fiat India

Fiat makes great cars but in India, their shoddy after sales service has dented many an owners confidence in the Italian brand. Over the past couple of years, Fiat India has been trying hard to shore up it’s after sales serice and one such was move was it’s tie up with Tata Motors to retail and serice Fiat products in India. In it’s latest bid to keep the brand alive and Fiat owners satisfied, Fiat has announced major drop in the cost of spare parts for the Fiat Palio.

This, will greatly enable Fiat Palio owners to run their cars with peace of mind as availability and pricing of spare parts was their major gripe till date. We, at ICB appreciate this move of Fiat and hope that other manufacturers like Ford India will follow suit to price their spare parts more affordably and make parts easily available.

You can download the excel sheet with the revised prices of the spare parts for the Fiat Palio right here.

I have proof that fiat has increased the price of the oil filter for Palio 1.9D from Rs. 134.52 to 302.08 in two months i.e. August 2009 to October 2009 (part number 46805832), which is a jump of 124.56% over the old price. i would just like to hear an explanation from FIAT. (just for kicks)

had a good impression of fiat, since it lost ground almost in indian market due to sluggishness, and unable to capture again. There is no proper dealer network, whenever you check in either high prices discourage you or dealer distracts to other brand.
Also, the prices are not in marketable prices either they cross 4-5 lac margin upto 6 on road price.thereby there is a huge loss of customers between 3.8 to 4 lac category and model un-availabe, where others cash.
Also now going thro some reviews I understand the prices of spares got shot up or unavailable.
This will be taken over by SME manfactturer who will cater to them at low prices leaving loss of revenue to Co.
Pl. the Co. should wake up and plug leakages and take up the market share.

I strongly disagree that they have reduced the prices…infact it has increased…a normal headlight unit now costs 2500 RS…damn expensive to maintain a fiat

Fiat has been running on mistakes and it seems it has no plans to cut short on its grave mistakes yet!!!!Having such a great product like Fiat UNO and making a mess out of it on its pricing strategies and premimum car-like spare part prices; they never learn nor cease to make errors. The higher desks in Italy, you guys better sack the ones running your Indian venture. These fools are not even fit to run a paan shop!!!!Almost 6 decades in India and yet not able to get any idea on the market interests….pathetic show Fiat…..pathetic!!!
