Force Motors will launch a Passenger Van later this year!
For long, the Tempo Traveler has been Force Motors’ staple offering that is both comfortable as well as reliable due to the Daimler OM series Diesel engine under the hood. Force Motors will launch it’s flagship product, the 2011 Force SUV, in a month or so. While the 2011 Force SUV will be the brand builder for Force Motors, the firm has plans to launch a passenger van aimed at large families before the end of 2011.
This passenger van, which could be an 8 or 9 seater will sit in the personalized vehicle space and not as a commercial vehicle. So, the Tata Winger could now get some home grown competition to spice things up in the people carrier segment. Other details about the passenger van remain unknown at the moment. From Force Motors’ recent moves to revamp it’s personal vehicle dealerships to improve service standards, it appears that the new passenger van also will benefit from the dealership improvements as Force Motors seems to be targeting large families as potential buyers of it’s van.
While the Force SUV will be priced at INR 10-12 Lakhs, the Passenger Van in all probability will be priced much lower than the Force SUV as the latter being a flagship product will command the maximum premium. So, expect the passenger van to be priced under 10 Lakh. Hopefully, Force Motors will make sure that the fit and finish is up to the mark. A diesel engine, most probably an OM series from Daimler would be used to power the passenger van, which means that reliability and longevity could be the strong points of the engine. So, time then to wait until the end of 2011 before a new people carrier that large families can buy will be unveiled by Force Motors.
