December is a month of discounts across the car world in India as car makers line up attractive offers to loosen the Indian car buyer’s purse strings, which gets tightened up at the end of the year, even as he or she waits for the new year for buying cars. For folks who intend to keep their cars for about 5 years or so, December also presents a superb opportunity for snagging big discounts on their favourite car models. Like Tata Motors and Hyundai, Ford India is also offering big discounts across its car range. These discounts are valid only up to the 25th of December. So, you’ve got to hurry.
Ford sells four cars in the Indian car market, the Figo hatchback, the Classic sedan, the new Fiesta sedan and the Endeavour SUV. The Figo gets a maximum discount of INR 25,500 while the Fiesta Classic gets a discount of INR 34,500. The new Fiesta sedan gets a much bigger discount than the likes of the Figo and the Classic, at INR 72,000. In line with its positioning, Ford’s most expensive product sold in India, the Endeavour, gets the highest discount of INR 81,000. These discounts will be available at Ford India dealerships across the country.
Amongst these four cars, the Figo hatchback is the best selling car model for Ford India. Available with both petrol and diesel engine options, the Figo is a value-for-money hatchback that comes loaded with features, making it a well rounded car in the B+ hatchback segment in the Indian car market. The Classic sedan is essentially the older generation Ford Fiesta that has been renamed and repositioned as an entry level C-Segment sedan. The car is known for its excellent driving dynamics and is available with a powerful 1.6 Liter petrol engine and a frugal 1.4 Liter TDCI turbo diesel engine. ‘
The all new Fiesta sedan is a class leader when it comes to its ride and handling but is a car that has been let down by Ford’s initial pricing. Now though, with the discount, the car does offer decent value and if you love to drive, the diesel powered version of the new Fiesta sedan is what you could look at. In 2013, Ford will launch another car based on the B-Car platform, in the form of the EcoSport compact crossover. The EcoSport will be available with both turbo petrol and turbo diesel engine options.
