Name Game: Ford flexes muscle and Ferrari concedes!
Ford flexed some muscle by heading off to the US District Court at Detroit to sue Ferrari over usage of the F150 moniker on the latter’s 2011 F1 Car and it actually seems to have worked. While Ferrari has thus far been mum over the issue, what they have quietly done is to rename the 2011 Ferrari F150 F1 car into the 2011 Ferrari F150th Italia F1 Car in most of the online material that has been circulated about the F1 car thus far and also in Ferrari’s F1 website as recently as today, where a title read “two million hits from 149 countries for the Ferrari F150th Italia on the Ferrari website”. What remains to be seen is whether both the car makers, Ford and Ferrari have some to an out of court settlement of sorts and whether Ford would call of the lawsuit due to Ferrari’s latest corrective action. Stick Around!
