General Motors Owners Rejoice As GM India Ushers Cashless Ownership to all cars
2010 Chevrolet Cruze
To convince the Indian car buying populace that General Motors’ cars are expensive to maintain, GM India came up with the cashless ownership experience for a few of it’s cars. The idea clicked and GM cars like the Chevrolet Spark soon started flying off showroom floors. Enthused by the terrific response, General Motors India is now extending the cashless ownership experience to all the cars in it’s Indian range.
Coming to the cashless ownership experience, which is more of a misnomer as the customer will have to pay a one-time subsidized amount of INR 13,499 to avail of free maintenance and service for the next three years or 45,000 km, whichever comes earlier. The scheme covers all the periodic maintenance services and repairs that might come under the ambit of regular maintenance/warranty.
Also, if the the cost exceeds the maximum maintenance expense for three years as outlined for each model, GM India will fully refund of the differential. While the consumer will have to shell out a one time initial cost for the service package, the scheme is extremely popular as owners report a hassle free experience at GM India dealerships. We hope that more manufacturers adopt similar schemes and make owning a car a more economical and a hassle free experience.
