German sports car maker Porsche has opened its new dealership in the ‘Garden city of India’. Bangalore has become third metropolis in the southern part of the country to get a Porsche dealership. The new showroom is situated on Lavelle Road a hit with premium car and bikes brands. Other dealerships on this boulevard include Ducati and Harley Davidson. Porsche really seems to be concentrating on its India operations lately. In the year 2011 alone, Porsche has opened four new showrooms in India. Porsche also plans to open a sales outlet on Hosur Road to cater to customers in the south east end of the city.
Both the sales outlets will take orders from customers. The cars will be imported directly from Germany and hence customers will have to wait for at least three months before getting delivery of their tailor made Porsche sports cars. Porsche has been around for quite a while now and in 2011 alone the car maker is expecting to hit 500 units. Last year the auto maker had sold 134 units. Meanwhile, Raghu Nayak of Porsche Center, Bangalore hopes the sales to hit triple digits in the first two years itself. Porsche offers all the high performance cars from its range in India. All cars are imported as CBUs.
The Porsche Cayenne SUV has become the best seller with almost 50-60 percent of the total sales coming from the Cayenne. Having said that, the new showroom on Lavelle Road, Bangalore will have three cars on display along with Porsche’s original merchandise including key chains and other memorabilia. Other Porsche showrooms in the country are situated in New Delhi, Chandigarh in the north, Mumbai, Ahmedabad in the west while Hyderabad and Chennai in the south. Kochi will be the next city to get its very own Porsche dealership.
