Chevrolet Cruze and Chevrolet Captiva: Recall on the cards?
2010 Chevrolet Cruze
It is of common knowledge that General Motors swallowed Daewoo and kept it afloat when Daewoo went bust a few years ago. As General Motors inherited Daewoo’s manufacturing plants, they also did inherit a bunch of car designs from Daewoo, some of which GM put into production.
Meanwhile, the Daewoo brand is still very alive and kicking in the far east with the Chevrolet Cruze and the Chevrolet Captiva being sold in South Korea as the Winstrom and Lacetti Premiere respectively.

In what seems to be yet another recall by a car company, Daewoo has just recalled 45,957 Winstorm(read Captiva) sport-utility vehicles and 12,604 Lacetti Premiere(read Cruze) sedans.
This recall is to fix faulty steering wheels on the Captivas and faulty fuel hoses on the Cruze sedans. This bit of news is of particular importance to Indian GM car owners as a Daewoo spokesperson was heard saying that the recalls would spill to other markets where the Captiva and Cruze are being sold currently.
So, if you are a Captiva or a Cruze owner, you shouldn’t be too surprised when the GM India folks call you up to fix your cars. Like always, we at Indiancarsbikes, brought you this bit of news before anyone else on the Indian Auto Blogosphere.
