Chevrolet Spark Electric To Rollout By End 2010: Cost Slightly Higher Than The Petrol Spark
Chevrolet Spark Electric
Stale news: Electric version of the Chevrolet Spark to be launched to sometime in the last quarter of 2010. Not so stale news: The fact that the Chevrolet Spark Electric will cost marginally higher than it’s petrol variant.
This bit of information is particularly heartening as the initial reports seemed to suggest that the Chevrolet Spark Electric would be priced exorbitantly.

If General Motors India indeed manages to price the Chevrolet Spark Electric somewhere near the crucial INR 4 Lakh mark, we expect the electric Spark to fly out of GM showrooms at a frenetic pace.
This launch could also prove to be the proverbial shot in the arm for electric vehicles in Indian car market, which for long have lagged behind petrol and diesel variants, partly due to their high ownership cost and partly due to the low range and small interiors.
So, end 2010 it is, when you and I can drive the Chevrolet Spark Electric out of a GM showroom.
