Gorgeous little Alfa Romeo 4C to go into production and will rival the Porsche Cayman

If folks at Top Gear are right, then Alfa Romeo will debut the uber-sexy 4C sports car by 2013. According to the leading auto magazine, FIAT is already started work on the financial aspect of the project and might put the 4C into production by next year. We could see a few prototypes being built to start with and a year later we might see the 4C driving into showrooms. What that means is our planet will be blessed with one of the most gorgeous creations of man.
The Alfa Romeo 4C was first showcased at the Geneva motor show in a form that would go down in history as one of the most desirable sports cars of the era. A matte red pain job accentuated its appeal even further. The shape of the car is greatly inspired from the 8C Competizione which was limited edition sports car from the Italian car maker. The 4C, as smaller sibling of the 8C will take on the Porsche Cayman which means a plausible price tag of £45,000.

The 4C will be a proper high performance sports car with all the latest go-faster technology from a lightweight carbon fibre construction to the 230 horsepower mid-mounted direct injection turbocharged four cylinder engine and the dual clutch transmission. Down the line, Alfa Romeo also plans to introduce a roadster version of the 4C which promises to be more exciting than its coupe. So, here you have a worthy contender if you are looking for fast sports car that isn’t a Porsche.
Oh, and if you think 230 bhp is infantile, Alfa Romeo is also thinking of offering the 4C with much powerful engine or in others words- an engine with as much as 300 bhp! Sounds good? Let’s just wait till the Italians finish their testing and stuff until 2013 for the car to arrive into showrooms. I bet it will be sold out a soon as it hits the market. So, you better hurry.
