Renault India has just released a brand new TVC for its flagship sedan sold in India, the Fluence. While the Fluence just got a facelift globally, it seems like India will have to wait a bit more before the facelifted model is launched here. We’re saying this as the brand new Ad for the Fluence shows off the older car model, an indication that we’re still some time way from the facelifted Fluence. In India, the Fluence operates in the C+ segment sedan space, a segment which hosts the likes of the Skoda Laura, Volkswagen Jetta, the Toyota Corolla Altis and the Chevrolet Cruze.
2013 Renault Fluence Sedan
The Fluence sold in India is available with petrol and turbo diesel engine options. The petrol motor displaces 2 liters, pumps out 135 Bhp-190 Nm and is mated to a CVT automatic gearbox. The turbo diesel motor is a 1.5 Liter K9K unit that’s tuned to produce 108 Bhp of peak power and 240 Nm of peak torque. The diesel engined Fluence comes with a 6 speed manual gearbox as standard. Renault refreshed the diesel variant of the India-spec Fluence last year, by adding more equipment and revamping the interiors of the car. Previously, the diesel engine Fluence sold in India was positioned as a price warrior, with lower equipment levels and drab interiors. Now though, the diesel powered Fluence is comparable to the petrol engined model when it comes to the quality of its interiors.
2013 Renault Fluence Sedan Facelift
Coming to the faceifted 2013 Fluence that’s been launched in international markets like Turkey, the car gets a brand new front end with daytime running lights, a new grille and bumper job. The car also gets a new dashboard, replete with a digital instrumentation console. Satellite navigation is the other feature that’s now standard on the facelifted Fluence. The new car also gets refurbished interiors even as the rear end of the car remains pretty much unchanged except for minor detail changes. Under the hood, the facelifted Fluence gets a new 1.6 Liter turbo diesel engine that delivers 130 Bhp-320 Nm. The car also gets a 1.6 Liter petrol engine that powers the entry level variant of the new Fluence. Renault India is expected to launch the facelifted Fluence in India during the second half of this year.
