The Honda Accord gets a sunroof and a few more bells and whistles

The latest Honda Accord looks nice and classy with it’s styling that looks more European than Japanese. It goes fast too, with a nice, 275 Bhp V6 engine lurking under that massive bonnet. But Honda still managed to screw it up at the hustings. Reason: Too costly for a Japanese D Segmenter. Why an Accord when I can drive around in a Beemer 320D for the same price, was the commonly heard refrain on the street. With all this, Honda tried to cut corners by dumping stuff like the sun roof which is almost de-facto on the D segment sedans.

Abysmal sales were the result. Now, Honda playing catch up, has just announced a sun roof, one among a few other bells and whistles it has added to the Accord based on existing customers’ berating. An ambient light, a footlight and a bluetooth mobile phone interface are the other add ons.

Honda Accord prices begin from INR 18,52,000 for the 2.4L MT, INR 19,27,000 for the 2.4L AT and INR 26,15,000 for 3.5L V6. All the figures represent Ex-showroom prices at New Delhi.

you hit the nail on the head with the BMW 3′er but alas with dismal styling the Beemer is an eyesore. Not to mention its a 100 horses less and only 10 torques more. It costs more too and is less comfortable. I guess its for people who want badge even if it came with a face that badgers.
