Honda Brio MPV, called by the company as ‘Low’ MPV(LMPV), sketches have been officially released. The company has shown them exclusively to the Indonesian media, which will also be the first country to get this car. The car is set to be unveiled at the 2013 Indonesian Motor Show on Sept 19.
Looking at the new Honda Brio MPV, it can be easily said that the car has taken styling cues from Brio. The designers have given it gaping air inlets on the front and beefier wheels arches on the sides. The side character lines also look similar to the ones found on the Brio siblings. There is also a visible kink between the B and C pillar on the side shoulder line, possibly to make it look less lengthier than it is. The low, floating roof line with a spoiler, gives the whole car a more dynamic look which the Honda cars are know for.
Although, it will be confirmed later this year, interiors can very well be assumed to be just a different shade of Brios. Expect no less than three rows of seating with adequate space. Knowing how good Honda’s engineers are with carving out space, and with Honda’s moto of “Man maximum machine minimum”, Honda Brio MPV will definitely be a class leader in terms of space.
Needless to say that this will get the 1.5 lt. 100 bhp diesel unit from the Amaze sedan if it has to sell in large numbers. The punchy and rev happy nature of this engine will come in handy to pull all that extra row of seating and people in it. On the petrol side, it may get the City’s 1.5 lt. to carry all that weight around.
We can expect the Honda Brio MPV to be showed at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo with the launch happening later that year. This will definitely be a straight challenger to Maruti’s Ertiga and a good one indeed.
