Honda Small Car with a price tag of Rs 4 Lakh

The much awaited Auto Expo 2010 is round the corner and the Automobile Companies are competing to showcase their latest models to the Indian market.

Every 2 out of 3 cars are small cars in India and companies like Maruti, Honda, Toyota and General Motors are focusing in this field. So, in competition with the Maruti Swift, Hyundai i10 and Fiat Punto, Honda Motors is now introducing a new model, to be launched in 2011 in the Indian Market. We had reported earlier about the Honda Small Car news.

The Small car will be showcased in the upcoming Auto Expo in New Delhi, starting on Jan 5th, 2009. Additionally, Honda will also showcase the CR-Z concept 2009, which was displayed at the Tokyo Motor Show in October 2009.

Honda Small Car India Details:

The Car is powered with a 1.2 litre engine.
This Car will be the cheapest car manufactured by the Company till date and might be priced around Rs 4 Lakh.
The car is being manufactured by Honda Siel Cars (HSCI).
This new Small Car is being developed in Bangkok and India simultaneously.
The Car is targeted for the Indian market along with few other emerging nation economies.

Honda Siel Cars India (HSCI) has already sent communications to its auto part manufacturers in the country about the design, architecture & details about the car.

Toyota Small Car India Concept at Auto Expo:

On the other hand, another automobile giant, Toyota is all set to showcase its “Small Car Concept” by the name Etios at the Auto Expo 2010 which we had reported in the past. That car was codenamed EFC earlier. This car is expected to be priced around Rs. 5 Lakh and is 90% production ready.

Well all this means that the race in the “Small Car Segment”of Indian Automobile Industry is going to get hotter in the times to come !!
