The Hyundai Eon small car is just around the corner with its launch scheduled for the 13th of October, 2011. But before that, here are a bunch of the clearest real life images of the Hyundai Eon yet, straight from a Hyundai dealership in Pune. These images even before the launch of the Eon is primarily due to the fact that Hyundai India has already shipped out 7,000 units of the Eon anticipating high demand for the car during Diwali. Hyundai dealers have already began accepting bookings for the Eon at a booking amount of INR 25,000.

These images that we’re carrying are courtesy a Team-Bhpian, who happened to snap up these images from a Hyundai dealership in Pune. As far as the looks go, Hyundai seems to have a winner in the form of the Eon, whose Fluidic design inspired exteriors are a right mixture of sharp angular lines and curves, a design that will appeal to the young and the old alike. The Maruti Alto, the Hyundai Eon’s main competitor, in comparison looks quite ancient. The Eon’s interiors, in terms of both quality and design too are a big step up from the rest of the cars in the Indian entry level small car segment.

The Eon will feature a three pot, 814cc petrol engine good for a peak power rating of 55 Bhp and a peak torque rating of 76.5 Nm. This engine will also deliver better mileage than the competition(read the Maruti Alto and the Chevrolet Spark), as Hyundai claims an ARAI certified fuel economy number of 21.1 Kmpl. The Hyundai Eon will be available in 6 variants, with the base variant beginning from around INR 2.5 Lakhs. You can read more about the Eon’s various variants in our previous story here.     First sentence states the launch date wrong. I guess it is 14th October. Please check and correct

      Dear Pratheek,

      The launch is scheduled for the13th. Previously there was some confusion about the launch date, which is now clarified by Hyundai India to be the 13th.
