Hyundai i10 Electric in 10th Auto Expo India
Korean Car Maker Hyundai today will launch the the Electric Version of its bestselling “Hyundai i10″ during 10 Auto Expo 2010 at Delhi. Hyundai is expecting a driving distance of around 100 miles or 160 kilometers with its new electrifier.
The petrol powered version of the Hyundai i10 was launched in India in the year 2007 and since then the car has been a runaway success in the biggest automobile market of the world.
As per the company statement, “Hyundai i10 Electric is a zero-emission vehicle that reconciles motoring with the environmental aspirations of customers looking for a vehicle with the best possible ecological footprint.”
It further added, “Apart from the current product line-up, Hyundai Motor India pavilion will also display its futuristic technology in the form of concept vehicles to highlight the superior and advanced technology that the company has pioneered.”
Hyundai has earlier offered few other cleaner fuel engine variants in Santro, i10 & Accent Models with Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and liquified petroleum gas (LPG) in India.
The Hyundai i10 Electric is a zero emissions vehicle & the limited production run of the car will start in 2010 at Korean Market.
There are plans to first sell the Electric i10 to Korean government offices and it is still now known when this new electric version will hit the Indian Roads.

- Top speed: 130km per hour
