Ford Figo Effect: Hyundai might prepone the i10 Diesel Model Launch
Hyundai i10 Electric Car Model
When Hyundai India announced that the Hyundai i10 was to get a game changing 800cc, three pot diesel engine that churned out close to 90 Bhp, we were licking our lips in eager anticipation.
Then came the bombshell with Hyundai India going slow on the i10 Diesel citing unviable costs of the cutting edge 800cc CRDI Turbo Diesel engine. Here’s the third humdinger which in other words is called competition.
The Ford Figo’s runaway success seems to giving the competition sleepless nights and here are one of the first signs emerging from direct rival Hyundai India.
The Ford Figo Diesel’s stunning sales seems to have galvanized Hyundai India into mulling a diesel version of the i10 pretty soon. A personality no less than Hyundai Motor India (HMI) MD H W Park has admitted that the Figo effect might make them reconsider their i10 Diesel plans in retrospect. While Hyundai India might not launch the stonker of the 800cc, three pot CRDI Turbodiesel, they might come up with something close to the Ford Figo Diesel’s capacity of 1,368cc. A detuned i20 CRDI Diesel mill might just be what the doctor ordered for the i10 and we can see it coming sooner than later. Stick around for more.
