At the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show scheduled for September, Hyundai will showcase a brand new version of the Hyundai Santa Fe Crossover SUV. The Santa Fe will go fluidic and the folks at WorldCarFans have gotten it on camera. The Santa Fe Crossover is the latest of the Hyundais to embody the new Fluidic design philosophy that is expected to run across Hyundai’s model range.

For starters, you can expect the next generation Hyundai Santa Fe to be quite a looker, like almost all Hyundai cars featuring the Hyundai Fluidic philosophy have come to be. A global model to be sold across most international markets as the Hyundai iX45, Hyundai might retain the Santa Fe brand in India as it just launched the Crossover less than a year ago for the Indian market.

From the side profile spyshots, the next gen Hyundai Santa Fe looks strikingly similar to the BMW X1 Crossover and given the positioning of the Santa Fe, that isn’t too surprising. In India though, Hyundai needs to price the next gen Santa Fe lower than the competition(read the Toyota Fortuner) if it plans to really take the fight to the Toyota camp.

Hyundai already has a superb engine in the form of the 2.2 Liter Gamma diesel engine producing 197 Bhp  of peak power and a gargantuan 430 Nm of peak torque mated to a manual six speed tranny. So, the only major change they’d have to make in the next gen Santa Fe is with assembling it in India through the CKD route instead of fully importing it in CBU form, like it has been doing thus far.

If that happens along with an automatic gearbox option making it into the Crossover, Hyundai India would be able to price the next gen Santa Fe just right to make for a very brisk selling model.
