Hyundai Verna RB Launch confirmed on the 11th of May, 2011: Now, official!
The 2011 Hyundai Verna RB, or what India prefers to call it, the fluidic Hyundai Verna will be launched at New Delhi on the 11th of May, 2011 as we reported earlier even as Hyundai India has began inviting the motoring press for this event. The prospective Verna RB buyer will be able to choose from four engine variants, two of them petrol with the other two being diesel.
The Hyundai Verna RB will also be fully loaded with plenty of segment topping features like a automatic gearbox for the top end diesel model and reverse parking sensors. Also, stuff like a push button start and automatic folding outer rear view mirrors will also make an appearance for the first time on an Indian C-Segment sedan through the 2011 Verna.
Now, if you’re wondering why a four speed automatic gearbox makes the Hyundai Verna RB class leading, that’s simply because no other diesel C-Segment sedan in India comes with an automatic gearbox. Kudos to Hyundai for going the whole hog and going it’s top end diesel model an automatic gearbox.
Meanwhile the most crucial factor yet, the pricing of the 2011 Hyundai Verna will be known only at the launch. Initial reports suggest that the top end diesel could command an ex-showroom price of almost INR 10.5 Lakhs which looks a tad high. Any which ways, Team ICB will be there at the launch and bring you detailed updates straight from ground zero.

The Honda City already features an optional automatic gearbox. I should know cause I own one. Please take effort to get your facts right, that said I do like your website which is why I took the pains of writing this comment in the first place. Best of luck to you.

Coming to the few lines which seems to have caused some confusion, “Now, if you’re wondering why a four speed automatic gearbox makes the Hyundai Verna RB class leading, that’s simply because no other diesel C-Segment sedan in India comes with an automatic gearbox.”
Please notice that we have specifically mentioned the “diesel C-Segment” sedan getting an automatic gearbox. The Honda city, though available in automatic guise is not a diesel c-segment sedan.
Cheers,
Jay
