Audi has confirmed the new A3 sedan for 2012. The new car is expected to go into production next year and India will be one of the first countries to see the launch of the new entry-level Audi. The Audi A3 will be very crucial for the car maker since the product will be pitted against other rival cars in the price range. Also, some believe that Audi could price the new A3 very aggressively in a bid to take on BMW. 

That said, the A3 is among a long list of new products lined-up by Audi. Although, the rest might not make it to India any time soon, let me just brief you on the cars that will be on menu. First-up, it’s the hybrid version of the A8 limousine. This car could make it to India along with the facelift Audi A4 which is most definitely coming to the subcontinent. Audi might also choose to unveil the new A4 at the 2012 Delhi Auto Expo, if things go according to plan.

Among other new high performance cars that will be launched globally is the all-electric Audi A8 sportscar. Now, we’ve seen a couple of car makers trying to bring electric cars into the mainstream by launching products like the two-seater sportscars and limousines. Tesla and Fisker have already demonstrated that electric cars can in fact be used on a day-to-day basis. Audi is also thinking on similar lines.

Audi’s sister company Porsche are already developing hybrid technology for their racing cars which could help the car maker for its ambitions. The car maker also plans to invest over 2 million euros annually in the development of new products and technologies. A major portion of this could be aimed at developing more sustainable products for the future.

    AUDI A3 is definitely a car a look out for.
    If AUDI prices the A3 2.0 TDI Diesel Engine at
    18 lakh Ex-showroom they have winner at their hands.

    Ya dude, if that happens the next best thing flying on Indian (specially Pune) roads would be Audi A3.
