Lamborghini Murcielago Replacement: New 700 HP V12 with Single Clutch Gearbox
Lamborghini Murcielago LP670-4 SV
Lamborghini are more than just madcap carmakers, they are insane.
Rumours from Sant’Agata have it that the Murcielago Replacement will have the supposedly ‘new V-12’ mill mated to a seven-speed single-clutch paddle-shifted manual transmission. The V-12 is slated to have upwards of 700 bhp.
This makes us think what of dual-clutch transmission? Well men in white coats with pencils behind their ears think that the dual-clutch layout will be ‘too complex and more expensive’. Yea right! Considering the vast parts bin at Lambo’s parents’ VW’s home. The car will also have the option of a seven-speed sequential gearbox. Ol’ school manuals are not a part of Lambo’s plans.
The new Lambo will have a cutting-edge aluminium space frame chassis that will give the 700 bhp monster nothing much to lug around. Estimated 0-100 kph times are around 3 seconds and a top whack of well over 320 kph.
