Honda SIEL has just pulled the wraps off the 2011 Honda Accord in India and the 2011 model of the car is all set to be sold at Honda dealerships across India. A while ago, we brought you buzz about the 2011 Honda Accord seeing a minor face lift and that this model would be launched quite soon in India. By launching the 2011 Accord, Honda SIEL has just confirmed this bit of news. The 2011 Accord will be priced between INR 19.60 to INR 25.41 Lakh, ex-showroom Delhi, and will come in two engine options, the 2.4 Liter, 177 Bhp i-Vtec and the 3.5 Liter, 281 Bhp range topping V6 engine which is equipped with Honda’s fuel conserving VCM(variable cylinder management) technology. Both manual and automatic gearbox versions are available for both the engines.

This technology will enable the V6 Accord to run on 3, 4 or 6 cylinders depending on driving conditions, thus minimizing fuel consumption. The main bits that have been changed in the 2011 Accord are reworked bumpers, chrome inserts in the grille, wooden inserts on the dashboard, new alloy wheels, sunroof as standard, and chrome highlights in the tail lamps. Apart from these cosmetic changes, the 2011 Honda Accord is virtually similar to the outgoing version. While Honda SIEL has been constantly refreshing it’s products through periodic facelifts, we believe that the Accord desperately needs a diesel engine under the bonnet to drive volumes going into the future. Until then, mere facelifts will only serve to keep the model current without much improvement in sales numbers.
